Another bed is needed

We have a problem

The kids sharing the same bed is just not working anymore.

Little miss princess complains that Mr magoo is touching her.

Mr magoo complains that The princess is taking all the blankets.

So now I have to  try and figure out how they can have a bed each in a room that is only just fitting one bed in it already.

Pass it on

This morning I read this post from yay for home

It is about giving others a meal.
The simple act of how giving another person a home cooked meal can make the world of difference to them.
It could be
  • a friend with a new baby,
  • a friend who has had a hard time of late,
  • a friend who you just want to give a gift to,
  • or even just a neighbour.

For the giver it is simple for us to just cook a bit extra, pop it into a container and just drop it off.
For the receiver it means one less meal to cook, which for A LOT of us is huge. Not having to juggle the cooking and the kids at the end of a long day.

The timing of this post was perfect as yesterday I got news of a pregnant friend who is now on bed rest to try and prevent her baby coming early. So this week I will be cooking something up for her and her family.

So like Shae over at yay for home I am encouraging you all to cook a meal or even some biscuits for another person.

Blog Love

Today I have discovered

Blog Love

The idea is:
The initial idea behind blog love was I often click on people's profiles and they don't have their blog listed in their profile so I can't then find their blog to follow them back.

Also everyone is always looking for new blogs to follow.

So by everyone in the community getting involved and sharing their blog url's and a brief description of their blog in one place and then sharing the link to this blog by having a button on their sidebar means we can all share the blogging love!
Which I think is a fantastic idea. Especially for those of us who are faily new to this blogging world. And for those who have been round a bit longer. It's a great way to find yourself a new blog!

So go check out Bloglove

Things I know

That windy weather makes my kids crazy

That humid weather makes me fairly cranky

That I seem to have forgotten the notes on a keyboard.

That time spent in the garden is seriously good therapy.

I love my family.

Go over to Yay for Home To see more Things I know

grateful for giveaways

This week I am grateful winning a wonderful prize!!!

Over at Stuff With Thing I entered a giveaway for the book

I am so excited to win
And I am so grateful for Stuff With Thing for having such a great blog that covers similiar issues to what we in our family face every day.

Share in with Maxabella loves with what you are grateful for this week

Bed Hog

The kids are facing a problem with sleeping in their new bed.

There is a bed hog who comes in during the night and takes up a LOT of space

Fat Cat (aka Snowflake)

As you can see she is huge. Seriously needs a trip to the vet and a diet

Anyway so during the night sle likes to climb into bed with the kids.
The problem is
She is heavy
She is big
She dont move easily, if she dont want to
She can be lovely BUT she can be cranky.

So her presence in the bed is usually noticed and therefore wakes the kids up.

So not sure what I am going to do to keep this bed hog out of their bed.

creative treasures

I am busy looking at all these treasures that I got from mum's place when we were last there clearing stuff

There are so many things to touch, feel and some even give me memories

Check out this lace glove

And beautiful hankies
This one was in it's original packaging.
So never used and would be over 50 years old

Look how fine the lace is.
The sticker said it was from Ireland.

Just Beautiful

I am trying to think of different ways to use, showcase and treasure these things.

New life

Joining in wordless wednesday with faithhopeandawholelottalove

Photo taken Tue 15th Feb.
Ewe with her twin lambs just hours old

My bling, it does not sparkle

I saw this post on maxabellaloves about Bling on valentines day.
So I thought I could show this

My wedding ring

This is what I am wearing with most attachment to.
On my necklace I wear my mother's thimble.
The kids found it while we were cleaning out her house last month.

My mother was a a sewer, knitter, crocheter, crafter. She was always trying something new in the crafty world.
It's been 9 months since she passed and I miss her.

So my bling does not sparkle in the sense of how others may see it.
But it does sparkle for me

We play: Boat trips

When our washing baskets are not full of washing waiting to be folded. My children love to play in them.
One day last week they pretended that they were in boats and going to Bali.
They played this game for an extended period of time and just loved it.
It is wonderful to see their imagination working with no input from me.

They took some luggage

Upsey Daisy went along for the trip

As did Stig.

This week I am playing along with Childhood 101

Things I know

I am joining in with Yah for Home in Things I Know

Things I know

-Bear Grylls actually gets mentioned a bit of mummy blogs. (and not because we lust after him)
- when children have a late day sleep then a VERY late night. Mummy doesnt have much patience the next day.
-children know when Mummy is not at her best.
-ducks are funny to watch

-a broody hen (with no babies) can be scary
-there are so many zucchinis in the garden that I will need to do some serious cooking today

-there is nothing cuter than baby lambs who bounce after their mothers.

On my mind......gardens

This week I am joining in with down to earth with what is on my mind.

This week I am thinking about children in gardens.

Our Early Intervention centre is getting some money to put in some new gardens. So we as parents have been asked for some input.
We want to make the garden inviting to the children, and for them to grow and learn from it.  A lot of children who attend the centre have sensory issues so a place that will help in this area would be wonderful.

So that is what is on my mind.

I am grateful for......Early Intervention

This week I am grateful for Early Intervention.
My kids have a few issues with life so they attend Early Intervention. Our centre is the most wonderful family inclusive place ever.

Archie has Asperger's Syndrome.

Here we get understanding for the challengers we face.
He attends a transition to school program so he can learn simple things that most children learn naturally. (like asking for help when needed)
He attends Playconnect. A playgroup for kids on the spectrum. Which is just fantastic at helping to meet some of his needs
And he also gets Speech Therapy.
I get all this for $50 a term (till his gov funding comes through)

Charlotte-Rose is in the process of being diagnosed for Asperger's Syndrome

She too gets to attend transition to school program (she will do this for a few years)
She too gets to go to Playconnect
And she get occupational therapy.

I just love this place. It is one of the few places where we can feel normal.
People dont frown at me for having a 5 year old who still wears nappies when we are not at home.
People understand that my near 3 year old needs to chew velcro at time to keep her a bit stress free.

So this week I am grateful for fining this place that understands us as a family with issues.

Go over to maxabellaloves to share the fun

Last night my big boy who turned 5 expressed his desire to sleep in his own bed, own room.
Mark the miner jumped at this opportunity.

Hence a very quick bed was set up

in an already very squished space of a playroom/ my craft room/ dump and run room

So my big boy and baby girl have moved out of my bed and my room, and into their own space

This is Archie's end of the bed

And this is Charlotte-Rose's end.

Yes they top and tail in the same bed.

Because: the room can only fit one bed in it.
and this idea was decided at 8pm last night. Also hence the lack of bedding.

And man there is some space in a KING bed when only 2 people are in it.

Lego life

Sometime I wish life could be like lego

If things start getting in the way or those hurdles get too big we can just change things around. Make those hills not so bloody hard to climb. Put in more steps if needed to get to the top.

We could put in more windows to let more light in. Or just brick ourselves in so we can hide from the world.

Change the colour so if we want to be BLUE for a day we can just make it that way. And we don't have to be all YELLOW and ORANGE

I think today I will choose just a few windows and have a world of GREEN.

Before starting this blog I had a head full of things to say.
Before sitting down today I had things to say
Now I just sit.
Sit with a blank space with my head
Sit with no ideas,
No thoughts

Wish my head could be more like that at other times of the day
With just nothing,
             but empty space.

And now it is super blank as no photos will upload.

Coming together

This blog is starting to develop. Soon, very soon I will be brave and put myself out-there. And start making the links to others in blog land. OMG that gives the feels of the whole starting school, will they like me, what happens if they think I am just too wierd. I dont mind others thinking I am a little different but I dont want to be too wierd that no-one wants to hang with me. I also dont wish to be miss popular as that is just way too much pressure.
So I think I will be
just me
