Minnie's Masquerade dvd giveaway

I have up for grabs 1 Mickey Mouse Clubhouse "Minnie's Masquerade" DVD

On this dvd there are 5 episodes and my kids seemed to enjoy them all. Which is huge since Mr Magoo states whenever this show comes on tv "I dont like this show". So I had expected the usual complaint, but no, and he even asked to watch the first episode as he had been asleep when I first put it on.

So it was a winner in our house and I expect it will be viewed often at 4 am when the princess likes to wake up

So if you want to be in the running to win this dvd just leave a comment below and tell me if you like to dress up in pretty dresses and outfits
Winner will be drawn on Wednesday the 6th of April, early in the morning.
oh and only open to australian residents

Disclosure: I received a complimentary review copy of the DVD courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment via Aussie Mummy Bloggers. No financial payment was offered nor accepted for this post. All opinions expressed are purely my own.

A Handy Manny giveaway!!

Ok this is  my first review and giveaway.
So bare with me and let me know if I am not doing something I should be.

Yesterday in the mail we scored a copy of the yet to be released DVD of
 Handy Manny Motorcycle Adventure.

The timing of this couldnt be better as today we are all home sick. So thought I would try this to help break up the day.

Well Mr Magoo watched the whole thing. Fair enough he was too sick  to really move away but he didnt fall asleep so it held some interest for him.

The underlining story for me was that families are important and that families can be made up of many different people (or animals) and dont have to be a direct blood link.

The bit I did not like is that is is a movie yet on the dvd it is set up as two episopes. So you have to deal with the ending and starting credits in the middle of it. Which can be disrupting for children

So to be in the running to win a copy, (I only have one up for grabs)
leave a comment telling us who do you class as a part of your family even if they are not related

Comp will be drawn by random on Wednesday the 6th of April early in the morning

Oh and it is for Australian Residents only.

Blog Time

I have  a problem.
The time I tend to be at my writing best is just not the best time for the restof the house hold.
The words seem to flow best round 11am and in the afternoon. But this just doesnt seem to fit in with our daily life.
I seem to score good blocks of time at 5am-ish and late at night. But my brain just seem to work so well. 5 am seems to be when I just sit with a cuppa and chill reading other blogs. Night, by the time I do all that needs doing I am usually ready to crash.

Maybe I just need to train my brain to be able to type at all hours, can you do that?

Maybe if I set blog-time into a set time, ?????

Well this is a post of rambles.

Oh and do old dogs get really stinky wind like old people.??
As our old Minty really stinks but her diet is the same as it always has been.
Right now while typing this her stench is very distracting.
Poor old gal.
(The bog must think she is special since it decided to post the pic twice???)

Things I know

Finding a dead snake in the backyard makes your heart stop.

Not being able to find the snake id book to id the snake is frustrating.

Finding a dead rat in the backyard makes you feel seriously ill.

My dogs are pretty good snake, rat and mice catches

(yes realise this is a pic of them not in action and yes there is a cat in the middle)

Not having gumboots on a farm is just really silly.

Sneakers do not keep moisture out

I plan to spend a chunk of my weekend here in my sewing spot

My kids are the best of friends.

Go over to Yay for Home to see more things I know.

creative space

My creative space

This is what I have managed to make so far for a creative space.

It is a little small and crammed but it works.

It is in the loungeroom so very central to all the going-ons in the house
It will only be for the next......maybe 12 months so I can cope

For more creative spaces go over to kootoyoo and share in the fun

Ok I am attempting to do this post. I am having HUGE problems uploading pics

I am grateful for..... my sister-in-law

This week I am grateful for

My sister-in-law

A few things about Caz

She is a supermum.
She has 6 kids
She and the kids are organised
She has a tidy house
She has this infectious energy
She is a girl full of bubbles
She can find the positive from nearly any situation
She is kind in the most heartful way.
She will open her door and invite you in
She just doesnt think about stuff, she gets up and gets things done

But why I am so grateful and will be forever grateful

In the last week she has cleaned and packed up mum's house and all her stuff.
This is a job that I have been trying to do for the last 10 months since mum passed. And to be honest I had not got too far at all. As for me every piece of paper held a memory. And plus each time I faced all these things I would just not function that well at all.

So for that I am grateful for.  Forever.

My Creative Space

My creative space now looks like this

(and no I didnt make the quilts they have been in the family for 50+ years)

So am currently finding a new creative space, but for now it can look a little like this

and this

Do something nice

It is starting to feel like the world is ending. There is just so much tragedy  happening in the world right now and it is not stoppable as it is the hands of mother nature.

I am getting the strong feeling that she is not happy with how we are taking care of her planet, which in all honesty we aren't doing too much of a good job. (looking at the grand scale of things)

Things in the world are not what I call balanced.
Mankind seems to take, take and take.
We take from mother nature
We take from each other
We just take

I feel the need to right the balance

If just one person does one nice, unselfish thing,
then that just one simple act is an act of positive energy
that WILL make one positive influence and will help
someonesomewhere at sometime in the world.

So how do we make a positive change

Be inspired by what others do

Corrie at retromummy talks about 40-bags-for-40-days as part of her lent
From this I am going to do a clean out and give things to charity. (doubt I could do the 40 bags) but I know we have just too much stuff so I am giving it to others.

Shae at yay for home talks about  simple-pleasures-pass-it-on where you give the gift of a meal or food to a friend. Such as when a new baby is born. I have posted about this before here
I find this such a powerful, yet simple gesture.

These are just two examples but other things could include

plant a tree
give a gift of a plant
offer help to a complete stranger at the shops
give a thankyou card or a hello card to someone
pick up one piece of rubbish instead of just walking by it

But one of the most simple of things you can do for someone is

giving a smile to a complete stranger can really lift their day.

Simple gestures can and do and will make a difference to someone, somewhere at sometime in the world.

You may not get to see the difference but that is not the point.

You will know within you did something.

So share some kindness and do something nice.

Do you have any ideas on how you can do something nice to try to right the balance?

Things I know

I know a busy week means an extreamly worn out little boy who cant cope with much at all

I know a few days away before that busy week means that little worn out boy is a mess (just the thought of leaving the house turns the tears on for him)

I know an ear ache for a little girl means lots of screaming, grumpiness and discomfort.

I know the above mentioned, means this mummy aint getting much sleep.

I know a half blind chicken who is clucky can be managed if you get on her blind side
I know that a clucky (or quacky hehehe) duck is scary and I dont fancy going near her
I know that a clucky bantim who is also called crazy will seriously attack you if you take her eggs

I know it is saturday and we are having a home day

creative space

My space is still busy doing the kids rainbow quilts.

I have gone through some of my stash and found a few prints to add

I still have no idea of how it will come out.

No plans what so ever, just going with the flow,

wonder if it will turn out.

More creative spaces can be found here

I also need to invest some serious time to sewing things that can be sold in my soon to be launched business.
But more on that later

4 am wake up

I have been awake well before 4 am.
The princess is awake with an ear-ache/ possible infection.

To which she is very restless and not letting me far from the lounge she is on.

And now Mr Magoo has decided to join in the early riser's party

Wishing I could chuck them in the car and driving them over to the mine so the miner can look after them while he is on night-shift.

colourful creative space

My creative space is just cutting up lots of coloured fabrics (well 6)

The plan was to make a quick quilt for the kids to share.

Now they want one each.
So I need to try and do 2.

Which will mean a not so quick quilt.

But I like to look of the colours all mixed up

I just need to dedicate some time to it.

just an egg

Who would have thought that just one humble egg could make a person so useless

It was an egg just like the one above
Nothing odd looking about it
Nothing sinister
And honestly there was nothing wrong with that egg
It met my body

Which resulted in a very very sick me
and me spending a long time here

Normally I just love my bed.

But not when my stomach is trying to turn itself insideout

It seemes I have developed a very sudden egg allergy.

All I had 3 (tiny) spoonfulls of scrambled eggs.
(only 3 as we were kinda nervous as this was a bit of a test to see if it was eggs that was the trigger)

So now we know.
Last year I could eat eggs
This year I cant
And the response seems to be getting worse and worse.

So off to the Dr I go with my suddenly developed egg allergy.
